Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
The short version. We collect the username you choose, the email address or phone number you sign up with, and the games you play. We do not collect your location, your contacts, your microphone or your camera — the app never asks for those permissions. We do not sell anything to anyone.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Username | It is how a friend finds you. It is the only way anyone can look you up — there is no directory to browse. |
| Email or phone | To confirm the account with a one-time code, and to let you back in if you are locked out. One of the two is required; both is optional. |
| Display name | Shown to people you are friends with, instead of your username. |
| Friends list | Who you have added, and who has added you. Built entirely from usernames you typed. |
| Game results | For each finished round: the players' usernames, their ranks and scores. A round in progress is held only in the game server's memory, so you can reconnect to it, and is not stored. |
| Messages | One-to-one chat between friends, stored so it is there next time you open the conversation. |
| Technical logs | Connection times and errors, kept briefly to find faults. Not used to build a profile of you. |
What we do not collect
- Location. The app holds no location permission at all, so it could not collect this even if it wanted to.
- Your contacts. Nothing is uploaded from your address book. Friends are added by typing an exact username.
- Microphone or camera. There is no voice or video in this app; the permissions are never requested.
- Advertising identifiers. There is no advertising, so there is nothing to attribute.
Who can see what
Your display name and whether you are online are visible to people you have accepted as friends, and to nobody else. Your email address and phone number are never shown to another user under any circumstances, and neither is your username once someone has added you — the app deliberately does not hand one user another user's login identity.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. Data is processed by the infrastructure that runs the service — Amazon Web Services, for hosting, storage and sending the one-time codes — and by nobody else. We disclose data to authorities only where a valid legal order requires it.
Keeping it
Your account and its data are kept while the account exists. Delete the account and the personal data attached to it is removed — see Delete Account for exactly what goes and when. Technical logs are kept for a short period and then discarded on a rolling basis.
Security
Traffic between the app and the servers is encrypted in transit with TLS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in a form anybody can read back. Databases and backups are encrypted at rest.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to happieapartment@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. Deletion can also be done yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app tells you the next time you open it.
